Donation Sunday

When: Jul 28, 2019
10:00 am
Details:

On Sunday, July 28th  we will be hosting our 3rd Donation Sunday.  This is an opportunity for our renters, to gain experience in loading quilts on the frame, setting up the patterns and running/advancing the quilts to complete them.  As there is no charge to you for this "practice session" we are requiring that the quilts are for donation only.

In 2018, The Quilting Page provided quilting services for 32 twin long quilts (70" x 90") for the young adult homeless programs in Eagan thru Wilder Foundation and Community Development Agency at Lincoln Place and thru The Link which services a number of living locations throughout the metro area.  Additionally, we provided quilting services for a number of Quilts of Valor quilts throughout the year.  At this time we have quite a number of quilt tops ready for final quilting and binding in preparation for donation.

If you have a quilt top, batting or backing fabric that you would like to donate (or contribute to), as long as it is going to a recognized charitable program, we can try to include it in this or future Donation Sundays.

On Sunday, July 28th , we will have 5 quilts to load and complete.  Additionally, we will work on machine applied bindings and splicing together batting remnants for use in the donation quilts.  We open the doors by 10 am and stay until about 5 pm but it is very much of an open flow of when you are available not a required starting or stopping times.  This can be a time for you to gain experience and chat with other quilters.  Please let me know if you are available or want to be added to the list of first invited in the future - we will be doing this again in the future every couple of months.

You can register for the class by email at pagej@thequiltingpage.com or by phone at 651-214-4545
