Page Johnson is a professional Statler longarm quilter from Minnesota. Quilting all her life, she began her professional career in early 2003.
She works full time for customers and is experienced in both freehand and Gammill Statler Stitcher computerized quilting. Over the years her award winning quilts have gained her national recognition in shows and publications.
Page is a Certified Statler Creative Studio Trainer, and teaches several quilting classes at shows and private studios throughout the country. Her style can best be described as an “off the wall out of the box” quilter. She frequently states, "Quilting is like cooking, just because you have a stove doesn’t mean you can cook. There is also a difference between Macaroni and cheese and cheese soufflé”. One of her greatest joys is to challenge herself to find new ways to see how she can use Creative Studio to its utmost potential.
Page has found exciting new ways to incorporate an old friend, the Pattern Grid into her computerized quilting. The Piece O’ Grid (from Colorado Quilting Company) has quickly become her favorite studio tool.
Page’s newest adventure is Tutorial videos for Creative Studio Quilters. The Mini Videos posted on the What's New page are a free educational piece of less than 15 minute. Page uses the mini videos to provide an overview of the techniques used in the featured quilt or project. She also has longer videos (1-2 hours) available for purchase that provide focused demonstrations on specific techniques, such as the Page Turner concepts. These longer presentation/ videos have in-depth information and often include projects for you to practice the techniques on.
In setting up business she found a void in recordkeeping and management systems for the industry. Her friend and neighbor Mary Reinhardt created the Machine Quilter’s Business Manger for her. For more information see the Eureka Documentation web site.
